2026 NBA Offseason
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
He doesn't defend, he's gonna be 37, can't pay 25m a year for that.
He should go to Toronto.
He should go to Toronto.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
His efficiency has been pretty good since he left Toronto, including 50% FG and 59% TS this last season.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 11:44 amWow. DeMar DeRozan has been waived. Pretty wild to see such a productive scorer waived for basically cost-cutting reasons with no teams interested in trading for him. A good reminder that high-usage low-efficiency scorers are not valued highly in today's NBA.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
Ah, you're right. But in a way it still makes my broader point. Even an EFFICIENT high-usage scorer doesn't carry much value around the league, much less an inefficient one.JeremyG wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 12:09 pmHis efficiency has been pretty good since he left Toronto, including 50% FG and 59% TS this last season.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 11:44 amWow. Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
The problem with DeRozan is he is useless without the ball and is a bad defender. I think you could maybe build a bench unit around him, but he’s not good enough to give the keys to on offense. Pretty good guy in a tie game with 10 seconds left though. He can create a look for himself.

Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing DeRozan in to bolster scoring off the bench.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
There's no question somebody will pick him up. I'm sure he already has multiple suitors.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
A player like DeRozan is a great asset on a cheap contract. More questionable at big money like he was making before being waived. I'm sure several teams would love to have him if he'll come cheap.

I thought you were talking about Jaylen Brown…Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 12:19 pmAh, you're right. But in a way it still makes my broader point. If you think Booker's max extension is a biggie, here's another one for you. Donovan Mitchell signs $273m max extension:

LeBron next?
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
I read that he will likely take his time and is not going to sign a contract in the next few days. His agent Rich Paul is meeting with several teams to hear their pitches. (LOL, Lebron isn't even meeting them himself.) Interesting to see where he goes. Seems like the top teams would be Cleveland, Miami, Golden State, in some order.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
I think it’s Cleveland…maybe Golden State. I doubt he goes anywhere else. I guess can’t rule out Miami, but that doesn’t make much sense to me.

Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
I'm shocked that we're not even being mentioned as a possible suitor. We have ton of Rich Paul clients, LeBron could fill many needed gaps on our team, and his son should be getting some more playing time at Arizona next season.
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
What kind of chances would you give the Heat if they landed LeBron and Derozan?
Re: 2026 NBA Offseason
We’re not good enough. There’s not a pathway to a championship here. Feel like we could have been on the list if the Booker/KD team didn’t crash and burn and was still in place…along with James Jones.wpmiller42 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 8:59 amI'm shocked that we're not even being mentioned as a possible suitor.
