Anyone else think Chriss and Sauce will be gone by Friday?
Good point. Sauce also noticeably absent.
Sorry 'Bone. I didn't mean to imply that Sauce would play. My implication was meant to be that his deal would become guaranteed Friday and that he could be attached with Chriss & a pick to bring back something interesting for a team looking to shed salary.
Gotcha. I forgot that Williams didn't even play last year.
Not true, he played towards the end of the season.

Wasn't Williams hurt already last year?
I think so. I believe he was coming off of injury when he got his contract a year ago.

I think I'm the only one left on Chriss Island. I still think he has shown way more value than Bender and that he'd benefit from some real big man coaching.
What exactly do you think his strengths are? What do you see his role being on this team?

I still think there is talent there that can be developed, I wouldn't blame the front office if they moved on though. I think we need to choose between Bender and Chriss and I see why someone would choose Bender.

To be fair, he's been making appearances and looked in shape only a week ago.

Where was it said we were trying to trade him during the draft?

Zach Lowe said it on a podcast. Said Chriss was very available during the draft according to league sources.

Edit: He said it in his free agency preview as well
The easiest call on the board: Phoenix acquiring a point guard, either in free agency (Fred VanVleet is a name to watch) or via trade. The problem for Phoenix is that most of its young players are either untouchable (Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton), somewhere approaching that (Josh Jackson), a little unknowable in terms of NBA-level ability (Mikal Bridges), or hold little trade value (Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss) Chriss was available on draft night, per league sources.

I think he needs some serious coaching, not by Watson, and not by even bigger joke of a coach Corbin. But he actually had some game changing plays last year. I see him as a defensive stalwart, he's shown the ability, just needs to be taught team positioning. He also has a decent stroke when he shoots in rhythm, he even shows potential of developing a few low post moves. In essence I think he can develop into a 3-D guy at the 4 position. He's young and I don't think he's had any proper tutelage at any level yet.

That last part is really the only thing that can be said about his lack of development that doesn't involve pointing the finger at himself. I think most of us would agree that his biggest problem is between his ears, and I can't think of a single player who managed to turn that around as they matured. He's simply not a smart basketball player and he'll need to be surrounded by multiple guys who can cover his deficit if he's ever going to contribute to a winning team.

And the Warriors have been unstoppable since getting JaVale McGee.

Two guys out of how many we can't remember because they didn't make it past their rookie deal. I'm not holding my breath. I just hope there's a dumb GM out there to send us back at least 50% of his draft pick value.

His draft pick value was crap. Don’t be fooled by the fact that it was #8. It wasn’t like a #8 pick in a normal draft.

It was at least Giles, Skal and Bogdanovic.

Imagine trading Doncic for Trae Young. Dude shooting from 3ft behind the 3pt line is not a good shot in the NBA.

Jackson is 7/11 from 3. His shot sometimes looks weird, but when it doesn't, it goes in. Release seems quick as well.

Some of these JJJ shots look ridiculous. No way he'll pull off this type of stuff consistently.
