Anyone care to take odds on what Dunn and Oso will accomplish?
I'm curious on everyone's opinions on them.

I personally think Dunn becomes our Marion 2.0(light?), and Oso becomes as important to our offense as Draymond is for GS

I'm excited. I just bought a 5 game package (2 tickets) with a bonus 6th game, all in the lower bowl, for the upcoming Phoenix Suns season.

I got opening night against the Kings. I'm also seeing the Warriors, Knicks, Celtics, and Clippers. And the bonus game is one of the mid-season tournament games.

I saw a huge improvement in Summer League from both of them. I see them both being important to the upcoming season, but I'm not sure how important. Dunn probably gets regular minutes, but I'm not so sure about Oso. To me, the comparison for Dunn to Marion isn't quite on, though I can see an argument for them creating an impact through effort without plays being run for them. It's the comparison of Oso to Draymond that I find interesting since I've been thinking along those lines since early last year. Oso can have that some kind of offensive connector role that Draymond has. However, Oso needs to show he can defend bigger guys better than he did last season, and he needs to develop a 3-point shot that is at least as good as Draymond's (which isn't asking for much). I won't be surprised to see him play a lot of power forward with Williams and/or Maluach.

Ya Oso does a lot of interesting things, but he’s just a tricky fit in some ways.

Can he defend the 5? Can we place a floor spacing 5 out there with him if not?

He did look noticeably better in summer league. Will the increased confidence translate and keep him aggressive? He needs to be willing to attack the basket off those DHO sets for it to work with his lack of shooting.

If Maluach can shoot 3s I think Oso does make a lot of sense as sort of a Draymond like offensive hub with 2nd units. Gillespie/Green/shooter/Oso/Maluach could be an interesting 2nd unit. Takes some pressure off Green to create a ton of offense.

Dunn looked a lot better as well in summer league. I mostly want to see him defend at an elite level, hit open catch and shoot 3s, and finish in transition. I don’t need the on ball creation stuff yet, though I’m fine if he keeps working on those skills. He did show some stuff as a screen and roll guy(he finished well and flashed some short roll playmaking). I think he can bring some value here as well.

I do kinda like Green off the bench, but they won’t do that. I hope Maluach gets to the point he can start, but I don’t think he starts right away. I’m not sure his shot is real. I have wondered if they’d start Oso at the 4

This is optimally. There is no way maluach starts, but the fit with the unit I listed is SWEET when bonded together.

Logistically I get your point...its always about sheperding resources to peak together, and Book is going to be hard to align if we're going to (as it appears) tear down to formula and build up again. However, Book is the one thing that is keeping fans paying attention right now as he's pretty much the last connection to any kind of winning...and he's the only current legit All Star we have on the roster. I'm kind of on the fence, but its because to turn towards a winning path, IMHO, we really need a lights out point guard....one that isn't Book nor any of the perennial backups and patch job guards we're fishing with...I still believe Giddey would have been a good move...and the fact that management doesn't recognize the need is really frustrating as a fan...

Oso can’t shoot at all. It is going to be hard for him to find decent minutes without providing some shooting - especially next to Williams. And especially especially if you are trying to also play Dunn.

Even with theoretical floor spacing Maluach, it’s a clunky fit as I’d want Maluach near the basket as option 1 and shooting 3s as a bonus or if it made sense with his matchup.

The skills Oso has are intriguing but not easy to utilise. It will be interesting to see how Ott goes about that.

As mentioned before Dunn’s path is very clear - play great D and hit open 3s. Do that and he’s getting near on 30 minutes a night

Hayes and Fleming could be in the mix if Dunn continues to struggle from 3 or maybe they play the 4 alongside Dunn.

Lots of good options with size and something to prove. I am excited about Green, Book and Brooks as our leaders. Yeah, I said that. I am an open book on all three of them.

I think you can make a case for virtually everyone on the current roster. I can't wait to watch them.
