Ok, I obviously don’t understand what you mean then. What is it about OKC that you want to copy?

Man, there have been few Suns acquisitions more disappointing than Tom Gugliotta. He had been averaging 20+ ppg for Minnesota for a few years before we got him. His first year with us, he averages 17 ppg; the next year, 13.7 ppg; the next, 6.4 ppg. Such a rapid decline. We signed him to fill the hole after Antonio McDyess ditched us and went back to the Nuggets. He paled in comparison. Sad times.
Bryan was GM then.In2ition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:24 pmAdd Nash to this list of players he traded. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 1:10 pmJerry Colangelo was very good about not falling in love with his players. Only three long-time Suns finished their careers here - Dick Van Arsdale, Alvan Adams and Kevin Johnson. Hey traded Connie Hawkins, Paul Silas, Paul Westphal, Charlie Scott, Dennis Johnson, Truck Robinson and Larry Nance.
There's going to be a time to trade Durant and Booker, and they have to be willing to pull the trigger when that time comes.
Goods was signed after Bryan took over as GM. And Randy Livingston had a lot to do with his decline.Cap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:07 pmAnd Googs. By the time he left us, his career was finished. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:02 pmMajerle (and Westphal) were both traded away however and just brought back for a victory lap.Cap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 1:39 pmTechnically speaking, Dan Majerle. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 1:10 pmOnly three long-time Suns finished their careers here - Dick Van Arsdale, Alvan Adams and Kevin Johnson.
And Joe Proski. You didn’t say players.
Is there any way to swap rosters with Cleveland with Booker and Mitchell being the two exceptions?ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 11:13 amBook needs a big who plays like a big. He needs a Pau to his Kobe. KD is essentially a 7ft SG. But Book needs a true PG who can run a team and a legit 2way big. Fill in the rest with athletic defenders and shooters. Easier said than done, but that's the model IMO.
Didn’t the Celtics and Braves/Clippers do that once? Swapped coaches and trainers and everything else too.SunsShine wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 5:11 pmIs there any way to swap rosters with Cleveland with Booker and Mitchell being the two exceptions?ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 11:13 amBook needs a big who plays like a big. Mostly their defense and player types (athletic hustlers).Split T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:19 pmOk, I obviously don’t understand what you mean then. What is it about OKC that you want to copy?
The Dan Majerle Hustle Award this year goes to… Dunn?Superbone wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:18 pmMostly their defense and player types (athletic hustlers).
I could have told you that a month or more ago.Cap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:24 pmThe Dan Majerle Hustle Award this year goes to… Dunn?

Ayton was getting traded no matter what. He was done here. Instead of Nurk being traded today, it would have been Ayton and a 1st being sent out, and the return may have been even worse.
Wow, I had no idea the Celtics technically became the Clippers. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:53 pmCap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 5:11 pmDidn’t the Celtics and Braves/Clippers do that once? Technically the Celtics (owned by Irv Levin) moved to San Diego and Braves owner (John Y. Brown) took his team to Boston. Then they reshuffled their players.
Boston kept their draft picks (including Larry Bird, Freeman Williams and Jeff Judkins), Buffalo kept theirs (including Jerome Whitehead and Stan Pietkiewicz)
Boston then traded Kevin Kunnert, Kermit Washington, Sidney Wicks and the draft rights to Williams to San Diego for Nate Archibald, Billy Knight, a 1981 second round draft choice [Danny Ainge] and a 1983 second round draft choice [Rod Foster]
Buffalo had coaching vacancies that they took to San Diego, hiring Gene Shue. Tom Sanders, who had replaced Tom Heinsohn during the 1977-78 season stayed in Boston as coach. San Diego owner Irv Levin hired a new front office in San Diego and the Boston front office (including Red Auerbach) stayed in place for Brown's "new Celtics".
The Clippers should have banners in the rafters and Havlicek's number retired.JeremyG wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 10:29 pmWow, I had no idea the Celtics technically became the Clippers. The Bobster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 7:53 pmCap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 5:11 pmDidn’t the Celtics and Braves/Clippers do that once?
