If we can keep Beal producing off the bench, see continued progression from Dunn and Oso and bring Richards into the mix there's an outside shot we could turn around and be a team no one wants to play as a 5-7 seed.

Outside as in 94 feet?

You don’t think Book/Jimmy/KD with Richards replacing Nurk can get us into the playoffs?
It also sets us up to get out of the 2nd apron because we shed the Beal and Nurk contracts…there’s very little downside to this one for me.
Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/6-1/12/25)
If we extend Jimmy, doesn't that basically undo shedding Beal's contract? We're still in the same cap situation, just with a slightly less sucky team.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:37 pmYou don’t think Book/Jimmy/KD with Richards replacing Nurk can get us into the playoffs?

Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/6-1/12/25)
Spacing would be pretty ordinary - Richards zero range and Jimmy, KD and Book prefer to work inside the arc. Defence would be pretty solid though (assuming effort is appropriate).Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:37 pmYou don’t think Book/Jimmy/KD with Richards replacing Nurk can get us into the playoffs?

I do like that Butler doesn’t shrink under the bright lights but don’t see it as a no-brainer slam dunk move.

If we give him the same money it does…but Gambo mentioned 3 years 110 million…that’s significantly cheaper than BealCap wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:44 pmIf we extend Jimmy, doesn't that basically undo shedding Beal's contract? Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/6-1/12/25)
I think it depends who the 5th starter is. Richards doesn’t shoot, but he provides vertical spacing. Teams have to defend his rolls, unlike with Nurkic. If Dunn is the 5th starter, that does make spacing a bit tricky, but the defense could be quite good. If Grayson is the 5th starter I think there’s no spacing issue.Gladiator wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:47 pmSpacing would be pretty ordinary - Richards zero range and Jimmy, KD and Book prefer to work inside the arc. I think if you’re trying to keep the KD/Booker team going, this is about as good as it gets. I’d be perfectly fine to just blow it up as well.

Wholesome!
Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/6-1/12/25)
Just tell Dunn to keep shooting like he was earlier in the year and hope the shot comes back. It’s a lost year anyway, develop the rooks.Split T wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:59 pmI think it depends who the 5th starter is. Richards doesn’t shoot, but he provides vertical spacing. I mean, he's always whining and moping almost every single time you see him on the court. I figured he'd be a Grade A bitch and do something like this.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/6-1/12/25)
Is there anyone on this forum who actually has a vagina? We might want to think of ways to be more welcoming.

My bad; I was trying to make a joke and poke fun of people who made such comments, but if I make a similar comment (even if in jest) myself, I'm not much better. Apologies.

I understood your intent and was backing up the point you were making, even though you’re sorry about the way you made it.
And I for one appreciate your sensitivity about both the point and the regrettable way you made it.
